Final Conference MEDGOVERNANCE - Barcelona 7 and 8 July 2011

7 and 8 July next will be held the final conference of the project MEDGOVERNANCE Barcelona. This event will present the findings from more than two years of joint work to members of the Network of Mediterranean Institutes (RIM) and regional authorities partners (Andalusia, Catalonia, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lazio, Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur) .

Master Class MEDGOVERNANCE in Florence from 26 to 28 January 2011

The project MEDGOVERNANCE aims to raise awareness of the Mediterranean territorial makers to joint mobilization at European level around issues and concerns and shared. Cycle Master Class started in Seville in June 2010 proposes to create a framework of knowledge and shared reflection and supporting initiatives for future cooperation in the Mediterranean territories.

Motorways of the Sea in the Mediterranean

Flagship project of the Union for the Mediterranean Motorways of the Sea are promoted by the European Commission for nearly 10 years. The Institute of the Mediterranean in the project MEDGOVERNANCE , analyzed the initiatives arising from these policies. What lessons for the Mediterranean? Towards a Mediterranean macro-region?

In June 2009, the Commission approved the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBR for its acronym in English). This document is the culmination of a reflection over the past 10 years, including at European level, governance and the new regionalism. The Baltic is the first European area to adopt such a strategy based on the observation of a strong interdependence and similar challenges to better protect the environment and ensure a harmonious social and economic development This "macro-region".

MEDGOVERNANCE

The project brings together MEDGOVERNANCE 6 regions (PACA, Catalonia, Andalusia, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lazio) alongside research institutes (Institute of Mediterranean IEMED, Three Cultures Foundation, Plural, Paralleli, Cespi) for the identification and policy recommendations for construction of the Mediterranean area including the best contribution and the role of regional actors.
