Final Conference MEDGOVERNANCE - Barcelona 7 and 8 July 2011

7 and 8 July next be held in Barcelona the final conference MEDGOVERNANCE. This event will present the findings of more than 2 years of joint work to members of the Network of Mediterranean Institutes (RIM) and the regional partners (Andalusia, Catalonia, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lazio, Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur) .

MEDGOVERNANCE Master Class in Florence from 26 to 28 January 2011

The project MEDGOVERNANCE aimed at policy advocacy territorial Mediterranean for a common European mobilization around issues and concerns and shared. The cycle started Master Class in Seville in June 2010 and aims to create a framework of knowledge and reflection shared bearer of initiatives for future cooperation and Mediterranean territories.

The motorways of the sea in the Mediterranean

Flagship project of the Union for the Mediterranean, the motorways of the sea are being promoted by the European Commission for nearly 10 years. The Institute of the Mediterranean, in the project MEDGOVERNANCE , analyzed the initiatives arising from these policies. What lessons for the Mediterranean? What role for regional and local authorities?

Towards a Macro-Mediterranean region?

In June 2009, the Commission approves the EU Strategy for the Baltic Region (EUSBR for its acronym in English). This document is the realization of a reflection of the past 10 years, including at European level, on governance and new regionalism. The Baltic is the first European to adopt such a strategy based on the finding of a strong interdependence and similar challenges to improve environmental protection and ensure a harmonious social and economic development This "macro-region".

MEDGOVERNANCE

The project brings together six MEDGOVERNANCE regions (PACA, Catalonia, Andalusia, Tuscany, Piedmont, Lazio) together with research institutes (Institute of the Mediterranean, IEMED, Three Cultures Foundation, Plural, Paralleli, CeSPI) for the identification and development of policy recommendations for construction of the Mediterranean area to better integrate the contribution and role of regional actors.
